Maddern Wins NECC Pitcher of the Week


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Southern Vermont College sophomore catcher/DH Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.) batted .600 (3-for-5), while chipping in three RBI and three runs for the Mountaineers.  Cook led his team to a 1-1 week, hitting safely in both games, collecting multiple hits in the split with Elms.  He slugged .750 and posted a 1.200 on-base percentage, while finishing the week with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Becker College sophomore Errick Maddern (West Haven, Conn.), for the second straight week,  tossed seven innings and struck out 10 batters in a 7-2 complete game victory over NECC opponent Newbury.  Maddern scattered four hits while walking one for his impressive lone appearance on the mound this week for the Hawks.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Daniel Webster freshman infielder Peter Plansky (Litchfield, N.H.) batted .571 (4-for-7) with one double, one triple, two RBI and two runs scored.   Plansky hit safely and had multiple hits in both contests with a .667 slugging percentage.  He did not strike out in seven trips to the plate and finished the week with impressive 1.000 slugging and fielding percentages.
