Baseball Defeats Lyndon State 16-2

Leicester, Mass.- Becker score 14 unanswered runs, as the Hawks defeated Lyndon State 16-2 in men's baseball action.
In game one, Becker pounded out 16 hits. Jairo Valdez (Lynn, Mass.) led the Hawks with 5 hits and 4 RBI's, including a 3 run triple in the top of the 6th. Joe Corey (Billerica, Mass) had 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Josue Lopez (Manchester, Conn.), Weston Meehan (Thomson, GA.), and Jim Ceglarek (Chicago, IL.) added 2 hits each.
Lyndon State could only muster 2 runs on 4 hits off of Becker starter Aaron Sayad (Chicago, IL.). Sayad pitched a complete game, allowing 0 earned runs, on 12 strikeouts.
In game two, Cody Harmes (Strasburg, PA,) pitched 10 innings of no hit baseball, before the game was called due to darkness with the score tied 0-0. The Hawks were held at bay by Lyndon State starter Shane O'Donnell-Leach (Groton, VT.) O'Donnell-Leach pitched 9 strong innings, allowing just 6 hits. Jeremy Schichtle (Ryegate, VT) stranded two Hawks in scoring position in the 10th to preserve the tie.
Becker improved to 7-6-1 overall. Lyndon State fell to 0-4-1 on the season.
