Hawks double-up Lasell, 4-2

Leicester, Mass - Sophomore forward Kristal Swiderski (Warren, MA) scored a natural hat trick as the Becker College field hockey team defeated the Lasell Lasers 4-2 in non-conference action today at Alumni Field. The Hawks record improves to 4-5 while Lasell drops to 4-6.
The Hawks got on the board just 10 minutes into the game when Victory Sirchia (Goshen, CT) buried a rebound past Lasell goaltender Christine Thornton (Canton, MA). Swiderski then doubled the lead to 2-0 at the 23 minute mark. The Laser's cut the lead in half with just under 3 minutes remaining in the half when Meagan DeAndrade (New Bedford, MA) scores inside the right post on a rebound.
The teams played back and forth for the first 20 minutes of the second half. Junior forward Justine McComb (Bloomfield, CT) tied the game when she put back a shot on a penalty corner.
The game didn't stayed tied for long as the Hawks penetrated the Lasell defense and Swiderski pocketed her second goal of the game, with Rachel Fink (Bath, PA) picking up the assist. Swidershki put the game away when she tipped in a beautiful cross pass from Katlyn Eisele (Walton, NY).
Ciara Lawrence (Costa Mesa, CA) was stellar between the pipes for the Hawks making eight saves.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday October 4th when the travel to Wheelock College for a New England Collegiate Conference match-up. Game time is 3:00 pm.
