Field Hockey Falls 6-1 To Gordon

Leicester, Mass- Samantha Neverett (Athol, Mass) scored six points in the first half, as Gordon College defeated Becker College 6-1 in non-conference women's field hockey action.

Tori Blandin (Berlin, Mass) got the Fighting Scots on the board 6:07 into the game when she redirected a Samantha Neverett shot into the net. Kristin Lewis (Barre, VT) put Gordon up 2-0, when she tipped a feed from Neverett past the reach of Becker goalkeeper Nakita Gosselin (Springfield, VT). Samantha Neverett scored two unassisted goals to close out the half, putting Gordon up 4-0.

Kristin Lewis finished off the Gordon scoring attack with two goals in the second half. Brooke Cote (Fitchburg, Mass) scored the lone goal for the Hawks.

Alicia L'Heureux (Dudley, Mass) made two saves, to earn the win for the Fighting Scots. Gordon improved to 2-8 with the win. Nakita Gosselin earned the loss after making four saves. The Hawks are now 4-7 overall.
