Field Hockey Sinks Simmons

The Hawks defeated Simmons College 3-1 in non-conference women's field hockey action.

Becker got the board with 23:32 remaining in the first half, when Stephanie Dixon (Rockport, Mass) rebound a Brooke Cote (Fitchburg, Mass) shot, slipping it into the net. Katelyn Tighe (Easton, Mass) tied the game for the Sharks, when she ripped a shot through a crowd from ten yards out. The Hawks regained the lead when Morgan Gass (Avon, Conn) scored off of her own rebound, making the score 2-1 at the half.

The Hawks secured the win 9:40 into the second half, when Carly Barone(Attleboro, Mass) scored on a pass from Jessica Provencher (Berwick, ME).

Jen Szkolt (Bondsville, Mass) made three saves in a losing effort. Simmons fell to 2-10 on the season. Nakita Gosselin (Springfield, VT) made nine saves, as the Hawks improved to 7-7 overall.
