Suber and Favors Sweep NECC Awards


 PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Becker College senior guard Travis Suber (Springfield, Mass.) was a scoring force for the Hawks during a perfect 3-0 week. Suber notched an amazing 37 points in a 93-84 overtime win against NECC rival Daniel Webster. He bagged 21 points in a 90-71 victory over Eastern Nazarene and 17 points in an 80-53 sweep of Southern Vermont. He broke his career free-throw attempt record going 13-for-18 against the Eagles. He notched 75 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists, 12 steals and 6 blocks in a three game series. For the week, Suber went 47 % (25-for-53) from the field, 28 % (3-for-11) from the arc and 71% (20-for-28) from the charity stripe.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Fellow Hawk and freshman forward Terrance Favors (Boston, Mass.) averaged 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game helping Becker to a 3-0 weekly record, including a pair of NECC victories.  He opened up the week scoring 15 points in a non-conference win over Eastern Nazarene only to come back in the next two conference wins tallying 20 and 19 points respectively.  Over the three-game span, Favors shot 57% from the floor (21-for-37), 33% (3-for-9) from downtown and a sizzling 82% from the free-throw line (9-for-11).
