Men's Lacrosse Claws Past Eagles


Nashua - Jon Nessen (Levittown, Penn.) notched a game high five goals while Josh Fask (Worcester, Mass.) added two goals and three assists to lead Becker College past host Daniel Webster College, 12-6 in regional men's lacrosse action Wednesday at Eagle Field.

Aaron Fill (Ladner, B.C.) and Bob Loranger (Billerica, Mass.) added two scores for the Hawks (7-2), while Peter Fellows (Boylston, Mass.) made 10 stops in goal.

Ryan Manning (Newport, N.H.), Brian Abrahamson (Dedham, Mass.) and Noah Smith (Kurtistown, Haw.) registered two goals apiece for the Eagles (0-6).

Rookie Tom Driscoll (S. Boston, Mass.) sparkled for Daniel Webster in goal, finishing with 20 saves.

The Eagles jumped ahead 1-0 out of the gate with Smith's first of the day just 1:49 into the contest.

But Becker answered with the next seven over the first and second quarters including two each from Nessen and Fill to lead 7-2 at the half.

Becker took control of the contest outscoring the Eagles 5-1 in the third quarter for a 12-3 advantage, while a Manning score and two goals from Abrahamson closed it out in the fourth for the 12-6 final.

The Eagles visit Mitchell College Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. contest, while Becker visits Lyndon State Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
