Lesley Claws Past Hawks

Leicester, Mass- Lesley University defeated the Becker College 2-1 in New England Collegiate Conference soccer action on Saturday.

Lesley got things started 24:48 into the first half when Scott Wheeler (East Hampton, CT) fed Tyler Reeves (Coventry, CT) who delivered a ball from the left wing into the right hand side of the net.  The Hawk answered back when John Gilbert(Sturbridge, MA) threaded a perfect pass to Jason Gianatti (Southington,CT) tying the game at one.

The score stayed the same until 54:33 of the game when Tyler Reeves headed a pass from Zach Rocha (New Bedford, MA) passed Becker Goalkeeper Aaron Fill. The Lesley defense held the Hawks scoreless for the final thirty five and a half minutes to earn their first conference victory.

Lesley Goalkeeper Zach Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, MA.) made five saves for the Lynx. Aaron Fill (Delta, B.C) made two saves in the losing effort. Becker (3-3, 0-1 NECC) will face Mount Ida on Wednesday at 4pm in Leicester. Lesley (3-5, 1-0 NECC) will travel to Lasell on Wednesday.
