Men's Soccer Loses In Final Seconds To SVC

Leicester, Mass- Freshman Adrien Alexis (Maplewood, NJ) scored with six seconds remaining in double overtime, as Southern Vermont defeated Becker 3-2 in men's soccer action.
The Hawks got on the board first when Ryan Nagel (Griswold, Conn) redirected a Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL) past the grasp of the Mountaineers goalkeeper. Southern Vermont tied the score 35 seconds later when Alex Borini (Schenectady, NY) ripped a shot past the dive of Becker goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC).
Adrien Alexis put the Mountaineers in front 53:22 into the game, when he blistered a shot into the left hand corner of the net. The Hawks were able to force overtime, when Fabian Delgado (Leominster, Mass) received a pass from Tyler Johnson (Fitchburg, Mass) and shot it past Southern Vermont goalkeeper Aaron Eschler (Gloversville, NY).
Both the Hawks and Mountaineers appeared to be heading for their second tie of the season. That was until Adrien Alexis broke free past the Becker defense, scoring the game winner with six seconds remaining.
Aaron Eschler made seven saves, as the Mountaineers improved to 10-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the NECC. Aaron Fill made five saves in the loss, including two huge saves in overtime. Becker fell to 2-13-1 overall and 1-3 in the NECC.
