Men's Soccer Falls To WPI
Leicester, Mass.- WPI shutout Becker 2-0 in the 2nd game of the Worcester City Men's Soccer Tournament.
Dominic DeChiara (Kingston, Mass) put the Engineers on the board with an unassisted goal 17:39 into the contest. The score stayed the same until the 54th minute when Evan Demers-Peel (Norton, Mass.) set up Jason Hopkins (Mendon, Mass.) for the header in front, making the score 2-0.
Senior goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Ladner BC) made 7 saves in a losing effort. The Hawks fell to 0-1 on the season. Becker will play Clark University at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Paul Moan made 2 saves in a winning effort. The Engineers improved to 1-0 on the season. WPI will finish off the Worcester City Tournament against Anna Maria at noon on Sunday.
