In game one of the afternoon the Hawks of Becker College spread out 11 hits and 10 runs including a 2 for 4 effort at the plate by second baseman Felicia Laufer (Salem, CT/ East Lyme). Laufer would pick up 3 RBI's in the game on her two hits, with a Homerun in the fourth and a double in the sixth. Centerfielder Lindsay Shiboski (Beacon Falls, CT/ Woodland Regional) would then pick up her only hit and RBI on the day when she knocked a shot up the middle to drive in Graus from second, ending the game in a walk off.
The Nighthawks were celebrating Senior Day as they honored First baseman Leanne Merritt in her final home game of her career. Merritt would also record a single in the first game and 6 putouts on the day as the Nighthawks would send Merritt out on a high note with the win.
With the split, Newbury would end their season 2-28 (1-14 NECC), while Becker ended their season 3-23 (2-13 NECC).
