Softball Swept By Bay Path

Leicester, Mass.- Bay Path rallied from a 5-2 deficit to defeat Becker College 11-6 in women's softball action.
The Hawks scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, capped by an RBI single from Leann Norrman (Auburn, Mass.).
The Wildcats rallied back with two runs in the top of the 3rd inning on an RBI double from Sarah Palmer (Topsham, ME.), scoring Sarah Gates (Crown Point, IN.) and Sarah Wright (Canterbury, NH).
Becker went ahead 5-2 when Leann Norrman singled to left field, plating two more runs.
Bay Path answered back in the top of the 5th with 5 runs. The Wildcats got things started when Kate Lowy (South Burlington, VT) drove an RBI single to center field, cutting the Becker lead to 5-3. With 2 runners on, Jessica Priestly (Middleboro, Mass) hit a homerun to left center, giving the Wildcats their first lead of the game.
The Wildcats added 4 more runs in the top of the 6th, making the score 11-5. Felicia Laufer (Salem, Conn.) tried to rally the Hawks back in the bottom of the 7th with her 1st homerun of the season. Unfortunately the Becker rally was put to a halt, as the Wildcats won 11-6.
Kristal Cormier (Rochester, NH) pitched a complete to earn the win for Bay Path. Jessica Lewis (Bellingham, Mass) took the loss, falling to 0-8 on the season.
In game 2, Bay Path jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back, as the Wildcats rolled to a 17-2 win. Despite scoring 17 runs, the Wildcats only had 7 hits. Becker pitchers allowed 17 walks in game 2, including 11 wild pitches.
Kate Lowy led the Wildcats attack, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's. Becker scored both its runs on an Amanda Fogaren (Tewksbury, Mass.) homerun.
Jess Nizinski (Springfield, Mass.) pitched 5 strong innings to earn the win in game 2. Amanda Fogaren took the loss for Becker. Bay Path improved to 12-9 overall and 4-0 in the NECC. Becker fell to 0-13 overall and 0-6 in the NECC.
