Softball Drops Pair To Daniel Webster

Leicester, Mass.- In women's softball action, Daniel Webster took both ends of their double header against Becker College by the finals scores of 9-0 in game one and 13-5 in game two.
In game one, Daniel Webster starting pitcher Sam Langlois (Raymond, NH) threw 5 innings of no-hit softball, to carry the eagles to an easy 9-0 win. The Eagles scored their first run of the game, when Tiana Winter (New Ipswich, NH) grounded out to short with the bases loaded, scoring Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass). Daniel Webster put the game out of reach in the bottom of the second inning, when they plated 7 runs. The Eagles had 3 players with multiple hits. Amanda Varrichio (Middletown, Conn) and Theresa DiSantis (Hinsdale, Mass) led the way with 2 hits and 2 RBI's each
Kristin Cammuso (Rutland, Mass) allowed just 4 earned runs over 4 innings of work to take the loss.
In Game two, the Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back, as they sailed to 13-5 win. Sam Langlois pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win her 2nd win of the day. Amanda Varrichio carried Daniel Webster with 3 hits and an RBI. Theresa DiSantis hit a two run homerun in the top of the 6th to seal the win for the Eagles. Daniel Webster improved to 10-13-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the NECC.
Kristin Cammuso hit her first homerun of the season, to carry the Hawks on offense. Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass) had 2 hits in a losing effort. Becker fell to 1-15 overall and 1-8 in the NECC. The Hawks will host Lyndon State tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 pm.
