NAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced

University of Maine-Farmington sophomore forward Caitlyn Laflin was selected as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the league's coaches. Laflin, last season's NAC Rookie of the Year, led the league in scoring, was ranked second in field goal percentage and third in rebounding. The sophomore shot 50.0% from the floor while averaging 21.8 points and 9.4 rebounds for the Beavers.

A pair of Husson standouts earned first team all-conference honors. Sophomore forward Shelby Bradford led the conference in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage averaging 17.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 54.0% from the field. Junior teammate Jenny Rollins added 13.6 points and three assists per game while hitting 35% of her long range three-point attempts from her guard position.

Castleton junior guard Jessica Banks earned conference accolades for the second straight season. Banks, a second team honoree a season ago, was among the league leader in assists, three-point field goal percentage and blocks while leading the conference in assist to turnover ratio and steals. Banks was critical to her teams success leading Castleton to a 13-2 conference mark and the top seed in NAC Women's Basketball Championship.

Senior guard Jenna Lewis of Johnson State rounds out the first-team honors. Lewis, who averaged 14.5 points with 5.1 rebounds and nearly 4 assists per conference game, tied Banks for the league lead in steals (2.8 per contest).

Castleton head coach Tim Barrett was honored as NAC Coach of the Year. Barrett, who has an overall record of 124-63 in 7 seasons with the Spartans, led his squad to a perfect 13-2 conference mark. Castleton was also honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award. NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting.
