Lady Hawks Fall To Lesley
Leicester, Mass.- Lesley University ended Becker's four game winning streak with 70-58 win in women's basketball action.
Lesley scored the first basket of the game, and never relinquished their lead for the entire 1st half. Beth Pion (Enfield, Conn.) hit a jumper with 13:14 remaining, to give the Hawks their first lead of the game. The Hawks went ahead by as much as five, only to have the Lynx claw right back. The two teams exchanged the lead 8 times in the half. After Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass.) hit a three pointer with 5:41 remaining, Lesley went on a 15 to 1 run to finish the game.
Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) carried Lesley with 20 points. Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, NY) chipped in with 14 points. The Lynx improved to 3-8 overall and 2-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference. Beth Pion led the Hawks with 20 points, in a losing effort. The Hawks fell to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference.
