Lady Hawks Claw Past Southern Vermont.


Leicester, Mass.- Becker College locked up a spot in postseason play with a 67-58 win over Southern Vermont in women's basketball action.

Despite a late threat by the Mountaineers, Becker never relinquished their lead. Beth Pion scored her 3rd straight double-double and her 11th of the season. Pion finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Rachel Pinak as chipped in with a double-double of her own, as she finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Shannon Tibbetts add 13 points in a winning effort. Becker improved to 14-11 overall and 10-6 in the NECC.

Joa Claircius kept the Mountaineers in the game, as she scored a game high 23 points. Markeisha Mullen pulled down a game high 19 rebounds. Alyssa Davis added 12 points in a losing effort. Southern Vermont fell to 4-12 overall and 6-19 in the NECC.

During the past week, Becker hosted their annual Pink Zone breast cancer benefit. The Hawks and their fans raised over $1,000 for breast cancer research. Becker College would like thank everyone for their participation in the battle against breast cancer.
