McKissick dimes Women's Basketball past Lynx, 73-56

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's basketball team won 73-56 over visiting Lesley University on Tuesday evening in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at the Leicester Gymnasium on the Becker campus in Leicester.

It was the home opener for the Hawks of Becker, who won their eighth straight game over the Lynx of Lesley.

• Becker senior forward Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) dished out a game-high nine assists along with scoring six points with six rebounds and four steals.
• Becker junior guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough) led the Hawks in scoring with 13 points and two steals.
• Becker senior forward Adrianna Dowdy (East Haven, Conn. / Hill Regional Career) finished one rebound short of a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
• Lesley junior forward Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif. / West High) posted a dominant performance with 18 points, 18 rebounds, four steals and three assists, all while shooting 50 percent from the floor.

TURNING POINT
• Up by just three going into the second quarter, the Hawks went on a 12-0 run capped off by a three-pointer from senior guard Erin Gaudette (Spencer, Mass. / David Prouty) to go ahead 31-16 with 7:35 remaining in the first half. The Lynx could never pull to within single digits after that.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Becker senior guard senior guard Allie Ablondi (Thompson, Conn. / Tourtellotte Memorial) came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points while dishing out three assists in just 12 minutes of playing time.
• Lesley graduate guard Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass. / Mount Saint Charles) filled the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and a blocked shot.
• Free-throw shooting stymied the Lynx, who went 2-of-14 from the line.
• Lesley outrebounded Becker, 46-40.

The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday night when they host New England College in a matchup of NECC contenders. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
