Women's Lacrosse Falls to Framingham State


Leicester, Mass - Framingham State junior attack Ashley Noonan (Mansfield, Mass) netted six goals as the Rams raced out to a 10-7 halftime lead en route to a 17-11 win over Becker College in non-conference women's lacrosse game at Alumni Field.

The Rams tallied just fifteen seconds into the game on a goal by freshman Carolyn Damphousse (Andover, Mass). Becker answered fairly quickly with a Tammy Mullen (Pottstown, PA) goal at the 2:39 mark to tie the game at one. Mullen scored the Hawks first five goals of the game, her fifth goal tied the game 5-5 at the 14 minute mark of the first half.

Freshman attack Nicole Lijana (Moorestown, NJ) buried a free position shot just 30 seconds later to give the Hawks a 6-5 lead. The Rams outscored the Hawks 5-1 over the last eleven minutes to take a 10-7 lead at intermission.

Framingham State scored six unanswered goals in the second half to seal the victory.

Mullen finished the game with nine goals to raise her season total to 40 goals in six games. She now has 91 goals in two seasons. Lijana finished the game with 2 goals.

Rams sophomore Stephanie Corrales (Framingham, Mass.) scored five goals, while freshman Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass.) added four goals.

Framingham State sophomore Allesha Kenyon (Westford, Mass.) stopped 12 shots to earn her first win of the season, while Becker college netminder Alena Phongsa (Putnam, Conn.) turned away 14 shots.
