Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Green Mountain

Leicester, MA - Becker College sophomore midfielder Tammy Mullen (Pottstown, PA) netted a game-high seven goals, including a pair of key late goals to help spark the Hawks to a hard-fought 14-12 win over Green Mountain College in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's lacrosse game at Alumni Field.
Becker College picks up its first win of the season and improved to 1-1 overall. Green Mountain drops to 0-1.
Green Mountain scored the first three goals of the second half cutting the lead to 11-9, freshman forward Amanda Posey (Columbus, GA) scored twice and Celie Dagesse (St. Petersburg, FL) also tallied.
With the Hawks holding a slim 12-11 lead midway through the second half, Mullen tallied her 9th and 10th goals of the year in a span of 2:59 to extend Becker College's lead to 14-11.
Green Mountain freshman goalkeeper Kelsy Allan (Jupiter, FL) had 21 saves and Becker College sophomore goalkeeper Alena Phongsa (Putnam, CT) had 10 saves. Both were outstanding between the pipes.
Freshman midfielder Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, VT) and attack Nicole Lijana (Moorestown, NJ) both notched their first collegiate goals. Hazen finished with four goals and Lijana three goals and an assist to bolster the Hawks' winning effort.
Freshman midfielder Erin Burch (Lebanon, CT) and sophomore attack Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) netted three goals apiece for Green Mountain, who trailed 11-6 at intermission.
