Hawks fall to U. Maine Farmington

Leicester, Mass.- In women's soccer action, Becker could only mustered one shot on goal, as the Hawks were defeated by U. Maine Farmington 4-0.

A Hawks defender redirected a Beavers shot into their own net, giving Farmington an early 1-0 lead. The Beavers continued their first half attack; as Jennifer Richter (Ellsworth, ME) rebounded a ball off a Becker defender, blasting it home for a 2-0 lead.

In the 2nd half, the Beavers put the game out of reach when Julie Walters (Wells, ME) ripped a shot from 15 yards out, just past the drive of goalkeeper Shannon Tibbetts. The Hawks changed goalies, but the shots kept coming. Amber Murphy (Manchester, NH) scored the Beavers final goal when she stole the ball from the Becker defense in front of the goal, Murphy then turned quickly and shot the ball through the hands of goalkeeper Alena Phongsa.
