Women's Soccer Glides Past Wheelock


Leicester, Mass- Catherine Millette (Columbia, Conn) netted goals in the first half, to help carry Becker College to a 5-0 win over Wheelock College in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action.

Alexandra Fernandes (Tucson, Ariz) put the Hawks on the board when scored her seventh goal of the season, on a beautiful pass from freshman Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, NY). Plunkett then took a feed from Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, VT) for a breakaway goal, making the score 2-0.  The Hawks went up 3-0, when Catherine Millette scored on an indirect kick from 35 yards away. With nine seconds remaining in the first half, Catherine Millette scored on a breakaway, for her second goal of the half.

Caroline Plunkett scored her eighth goal of the season, as the Hawks improved to 2-0 in the NECC. Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass) earned her sixth win and fourth shutout of the season, as the Hawks improved to 6-4 overall.

Wheelock goalkeeper Allie Chiesa (Medford, Mass) made ten saves in the loss. Wheelock fell to 1-7 overall and 0-1 in the NECC.
