Lady Hawks Blank Lyndon State
Leicester, Mass.- Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass) secured her second straight shutout of the season, as Becker College defeated Lyndon State 2-0 in women's soccer action.
Alexandra Fernandes (Tucson, Ariz.) scored her fourth goal of the season, when she drove a header past the dive of the Lyndon State goalkeeper for the 1-0 advantage. Freshman Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, NY) gave the Hawks some breathing room in the 70th minute, when she broke through the Lyndon State defense uncontested for her 5th goal of the season.
Samantha Smith (North Haverhill, NH) and Natalia Shams (Swampscott, Mass.) combined to make 7 saves in a losing effort. The Hornets fell to 4-1 on the season.
Shannon Tibbetts made 1 save to earn the win. The Hawks improved to 3-1 on the season.
