Women's Soccer Senior Day

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's soccer team lost 3-2 to visiting Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at Alumni Field on the Becker campus in Leicester.

AT A GLANCE
• Eastern Nazarene sophomore defender Stephanie MacFarland (Jupiter, Fla. / Homeschool) scored the game-winner with 2:02 to go in the game off a goalie deflection.
• Becker senior forward Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass. / Sutton) and freshman forward Skyler Tenney (Jaffrey, N.H. / Conant) each scored goals in the first half for the Hawks.
• Eastern Nazarene senior midfielder Kennedy Dowling (Nashua, N.H. / Nashua South) and sophomore midfielder Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass. / Miss Hall's School) each scored second half goals for the Lions.
• Becker senior goalkeeper Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass. / Chicopee) finished with six saves on the day.
• Eastern Nazarene freshman goalkeeper Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass. / Whitinsville Christian) finished with five stops in net.
• Total shots were tied, 15-15, with the Lions holding a 9-7 edge in shots on goal.

FIRST HALF
• Keith's goal came off a give-and-go by senior forward Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) in the 12th minute of the game. It was Keith's team-leading 24th goal of the season.
• Tenney took a pass from the left side from sophomore midfielder Shannon Kelley (Bellingham, Mass. / Blackstone Valley Technical) in the 34th minute for her fourth goal of the season as the Hawks went ahead 2-0.
• Total shots in the first half were 8-6 in favor of Becker.

SECOND HALF
• In the 60th minute, Dowling made a move on a defender from 20 yards out and blasted a shot past the keeper for her third goal of the year and the Lions first goal of the game.
• Then in the 70th minute, Becker was called for a foul in their own box. Best took the penalty kick and shot it into the right corner for her ninth goal of the season tying the game at 2-2.
• Finally, in the 88th minute, MacFarland took advantage of a goalie deflection in front of Becker's net to score her first goal of the season and eventual game-winner.
• Total shots in the second half were 9-7 in favor of Eastern Nazarene.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the start of the game, the Becker College Athletics Department and the women's soccer program took a few moments to recognize the senior class of this year's team. Each of these seven young women have made incredible contributions not only on the field but for the entire Becker community as a whole. Although their playing careers may be coming to an end, they will forever be part of the Hawks family.

UP NEXT
The Hawks will be at home for their regular season finale on Wednesday evening when they host Lesley University in a 6:00 p.m. game. The Lions host Elms College in their regular season finale, that coming on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
