Lady Hawks Win 5th Straight

Leicester, Mass.- After losing 2 out of 3 doubles matches, Becker College rallied to a 6-3 win over Saint Joseph College (Conn) in women's tennis action.
In doubles play, Sylvia Ranger (Bristol, CT) and Alicia Lienhop(Centereach, NY) handed the combo of Allison Flynn (Wilmington, MA) and Catherine Sivret (Stow, MA) their first loss of the season, 9-7. Shauna McNally (Worcester, MA) and Danielle Stryker (Ledyard, CT) earned the Hawks their only doubles victory, as they defeated Gianna Gurga (Southington, CT) and Kameshea Cooper(Beacon, NY) 8-1. The Blue Jays kept the lead heading into singles action, when Laura Curley (Waterbury, CT) and Christine Guarino (Westbrook, CT) defeated Stephanie Sabolik(Stony Point, NY) and Catherine Lawler(Plainville, MA) 8-2.
In singles play, the Hawks battled back by taking 5 out of 6 matches. Allison Flynn continued her stellar season by defeating fellow number one player Alicia Lienhop in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. Catherine Sivret remains perfect in singles, as she defeated Sylvia Ranger 6-2, 6-3. The Hawks also got wins from Danielle Stryker, Shauna McNally, and Stephanie Sabolik. Christine Guarino avoided the singles sweep, as she defeated Sarah Ryzewski (Spencer, MA) 6-1, 7-5.
The Hawks improved to 7-4 on the year, they will face Newbury College on Saturday. Saint Joseph College falls to 4-8 on the season.
