PLAY-BY-PLAY

The Bison began the scoring midway through the first quarter when Alex Santiago (Sunrise, Fla.) capped off a six-play, 39-yard drive with a 33-yard field goal for the 3-0 lead.  On Nichols' next drive, the Bison got down to the Becker 19-yard line, but rookie Nate Oliver (Dartmouth, Mass.) intercepted the pass on the 17-yard line and returned the ball 13 yards to give the possession back to the Hawks.  Becker was held back on their side of the field, and a team safety with one minute to go in the first gave Nichols an 8-0 edge heading into the second quarter.

Becker had the ball to start the second quarter, but Nick Nieuwhof (Alpharetta, Ga.) intercepted a Mac Kimball (Bow, N.H.) pass 28 seconds into the second in the Becker endzone for the first Bison touchdown of the game.  A good kick from Santiago gave Nichols a 12-0 advantage.

The Hawks scored halfway through the second when Morgan completed a two-yard run which capped off a 10-play, 65-yard drive.  A good two-point conversion from Kimball to Christian Perkins (Melrose, Mass.) brought the Hawks within four (12-8).  One the ensuing drive, Nichols' quarterback Michael Pina (Brockton, Mass.) threw a 37-yard touchdown to Joshua Pierre-Charles (Millis, Mass.), and Santiago made another extra-point attempt to move the score to 19-8.  The Hawks cut the Bison's lead to eight before the half with a 27-yard field goal from Kimball.

Nichols ran ahead with the score in the third quarter as Pierre-Charles had a 28-yard rushing touchdown, and Tony Martignoil (Santa Rosa, Calif.) registered a passing touchdown to give the Bison a 33-11 lead.

Pierre-Charles recorded his third touchdown of the game in the fourth to give the Bison their largest lead of the game (29), as the score changed to 40-11.  Becker's Morgan was the last to score for either team with 3:18 to go in the game on a 32-yard run, settling the score at 40-17.
