Men's Basketball comes up short at Buffalo Wild Wings Championship

OWINGS MILLS, Md. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 84-65 to host Stevenson University in the championship game of the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic on Saturday afternoon at Owings Mills, Maryland.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

  • Becker junior forward Mateus Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Colegio Pedroso e Oliveira) led the Hawks with 16 points, five assists and three rebounds. The junior was named to the All-Tournament Team.
  • Sophomore guard Mekhi Chester (East Orange, N.J. / East Orange Campus) continued his strong play of late, scoring 14 points and going four-of-six from behind the arc.
  • Junior forward Jamir Carr (Philadelphia, Penn. / Universal Audenried) filled the stat line with 10 points, a team-high six boards, three assists and a block.
  • Becker shot 7 of 17 collectively from behind the arc.

FOR THE MUSTANGS OF STEVENSON

  • Stevenson sophomore guard Norman Hughes (Cleveland, Ohio / Willoughby) led the Mustangs with 15 points, shooting five-of-nine behind the arc and dished out four assists.
  • Senior forward Mark Terrell (Warrenton, Va. / Highland School) was a force inside with 14 points and nine rebounds.
  • Junior guard Evan Joseph (Frederick, Md. / Middletown) also scored 14 points, including four-of-five from downtown.
  • Stevenson enjoyed a 46-19 advantage on rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Springfield College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
