HENNIKER, N.H. --- The Becker College men's soccer team lost 2-1 at New England College on Saturday afternoon at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

SCORING SUMMARY

  • The Hawks opened the scoring in the 13th minute Becker senior defender and team captain Jonathan Gonzalez (Douglas, Mass. / Douglas) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by sophomore forward Isaiah McCaskill (Springfield, Mass. / Springfield Renaissance). Becker would take the 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • The Pilgrims answered in the 67th minute when NEC sophomore Jacob Carney (Tyngsborough, Mass. / Tyngsborough) scored his second goal of the season, tying it up 1-1.
  • In the 78th minute, junior Tucker Stenger (Enfield, N.H. / Mascoma Valley) put away the eventual game-winner, assisted by sophomore Alec Irving (Putnam Valley, N.Y. / Putnam Valley).

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

  • Becker junior Sam Majewski (Warren, Mass. / Quaboag Regional Middle) tallied eight saves on the day for the Hawks.

FOR THE PILGRIMS OF NEC

  • NEC junior goalkeeper Robbie Ferguson (Hopkinton, N.H. / Vermont Academy) finished with five saves for the Pilgrims.
  • As a team, NEC outshot Becker, 26-14.

Becker is back on the field on Tuesday when they host Maine-Farmington in a 2:30 p.m. game.
