Softball drops two at the Spring Games

LEESBURG, Fla. --- The Becker College softball team lost two games on Sunday afternoon at the Spring Games at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex in Leesburg, Florida, falling 11-2 to Plymouth State before coming up short in a 6-1 setback to North Park University. The Hawks of Becker are now 1-3 on the season.

FOR THE HAWKS

  • Becker junior shortstop Sarah Ellis (Berkley, Mass. / Bristol County Agricultural) had two hits on the day, both good for RBI singles. The third year standout continues to lead the team in batting average.
  • Becker senior first baseman Samantha Buzgo (Beacon Falls, Conn. / Woodland Regional) went two-for-four with a walk.
  • Becker sophomore catcher Emily Iacovelli (Northbridge, Mass. / Blackstone Valley Technical) hit an RBI single against Plymouth State.
  • Becker sophomore pitcher Ashley Veillette (Danielson, Conn. / Killingly) tallied four strikeouts against Plymouth State.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the field on Monday, facing Wheaton at 9:15 a.m. before playing Carthage at 11:30 a.m.
