Softball edged in two in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. --- The Becker College softball team lost two games at The Games on Tuesday afternoon at the Legends Way Sports Complex in Clermont, Florida, falling short in their first game against Belhaven, 6-4, before losing a heart-breaker to Dominican, 1-0.

FOR THE HAWKS

  • Becker sophomore outfielder Elizabeth Simonian (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) went three-for-six on the day, with three singles and two runs scored against Belhaven.
  • Freshman third baseman Holly Letourneau (Woonsocket, R.I. / Woonsocket) had three hits on the day, including two doubles.
  • Senior second baseman Kyra Teixeira (Old Lyme, Conn. / Lyme-Old Lyme) had an RBI single against Belhaven, her first of the season.
  • Freshman pitcher Lindsay Mitchell (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial) had her best outing as a Hawk, allowing just one earned run over seven innings against Dominican.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the field on Thursday when they play Husson University at 12:30 p.m. and Washington and Jefferson College at 2:45 p.m., those played at the Sleepy Hollow Complex in Leesburg, Florida.
