Women's Basketball falters at Regis to open 2020

WESTON, Mass. --- The Becker College women's basketball team opened the 2020 calendar year with a 50-27 loss at Regis College on Thursday afternoon at the Regis Athletic Center in Weston, Massachusetts in a matchup of former New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponents.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

  • Sophomore guard Riley Berry (Margate, Fla. / Piper) led the Hawks with eight points,  four rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot.
  • Senior guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough) tallied six points while pulling down six boards and two steals.
  • Freshman forward Natasha Pacheco (Fairfax, Va. / WT Woodson) recorded a team-high seven rebounds to go along with two points and two steals.
  • Senior forward Sarah Ware (Oakham, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) added six points and four rebounds.           

FOR THE PRIDE OF REGIS

  • Senior forward Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass. / Archbishop Williams) posted a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds, both game highs.
  • Junior guard Nikki Bitinaitis (Cromwell, Conn. / Cromwell) finished with eight points and seven boards.
  • Sophomore forward Arie Searcy (Santa Rosa, Calif. / Cardinal Newman) and freshman guard Pam Gonzalez (Revere, Mass. / St. Mary's) both finished with seven points and six rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the court on Saturday when they travel to Lesley University for a 1:30 p.m. The Pride host Brandeis University in their next contest, that coming on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
