Women's Hoops cruises by Lynx in NECC action

MEDFORD, Mass. --- The Becker College women's basketball team stormed to a 68-22 win at Lesley University on Saturday afternoon played at Medford High School in Medford in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

  • Freshman forward Natasha Pacheco (Fairfax, Va. / WT Woodson) was a dominant force in the paint, pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds while scoring ten points with five assists and a steal. Pacheco's 19 boards matched the total for the entire Lesley team.
  • Junior forward Julia Campellone (Bellingham, Mass. / Bellingham) led the Hawks with a career-high 12 points to go along with six rebounds, four steals and three assists. The third-year player shot six-of-eight from the floor.
  • Sophomore guard Riley Berry (Margate, Fla. / Piper) finished with 10 points on the day, with a career-high seven steals. In her last three games combined, Berry is averaging 10.3 points per game after averaging just 3.4 points previously.
  • Senior forward Sarah Ware (Oakham, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) finished with nine points and three boards.           
  • Senior guard Cassandra Nelson (Exeter, N.H. / Exeter) scored a career-high nine points, making her first three field goal attempts of the game.
  • The Hawks had scored 33 points off 33 Lynx turnovers, including 22 steals by Becker.

FOR THE LYNX OF LESLEY

  • Senior forward Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif. / West High School) led the Lynx with 14 points and nine rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the court on Tuesday when they host Mitchell College in a 7:00 p.m. game.
