HARRISVILLE, R.I. – The Becker College women's ice hockey team defeated by Nichols College 2-0 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday night at Levy Rink.

Late in the first period, Becker junior Bailey Coons fired the puck wide of the net from in close. Classmate Claudia Gee picked up the rebound behind the net and fed Coons in front for the one-timer. Junior Nikolle Storey picked up the second assist.

In the third, the Bison nearly tied the game on the power-play when freshman McKenna Gernander sent a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that rang off the left post. NC outshot the Hawks 21-9 in the third before junior Catherine McShera added an empty-netter with 14 seconds remaining.

Junior Cassandra Goyette made 18 save for the Bison. Junior Madison Rigsby turned aside 38 shots to earn her first win of the season.
