Sacred Heart skates past Women's Ice Hockey


WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's ice hockey team lost 6-0 to visiting Sacred Heart University on Friday night at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

The Pioneers of Sacred Heart (9-3) were led by senior forward Taylor Moreland (Kenosha, Wis. / Milwaukee Jr. Admirals), who finished with a hat trick of three goals. Sophomore defender Jayne Lewis (Troy, Ill. / New Hampton School, NH) finished with a goal and an assists, while senior forward Meghan Kebalka (Lebanon, N.H. / University of New Hampshire) and sophomore defender Olivia Bryant (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) both scored.

The Hawks of Becker (1-7-2) had strong performances from junior goalie Madison Rigsby (O'Fallon, Mo. / Dallas Stars Elite) with 34 saves and junior goalie Julia Johnson (Littleton, Colo. / Walpole Express) with 23 stops.

The Hawks and the Pioneers will be back on the ice on Saturday when Becker travels to Sacred Heart for a 2:00 p.m. game.
