Carter scores five goals, but Women's Lacrosse falls to Mitchell

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's lacrosse team lost 13-7 to visiting Mitchell College in the New England Collegiate Conference schedule opener on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.

The Mariners of Mitchell (2-2, 1-0 NECC) were led by junior midfielder Kate McCormack (Narragansett, R.I./The Prout School) with six goals and two assists. Junior midfielder Francesca Pinard (Arlington, Mass./Matignon) had four scores, while junior attacker Jacquelyn White (Danville, Vt./Danville) scored twice. Freshman attacker Rachel Barda (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) also scored.

Sophomore midfielder Samantha Carter (Boothbay Harbor, Maine / Boothbay Region) led the Hawks of Becker (0-6, 0-1 NECC) with five goals. Carter has a team-leading nine goals this season. Sophomore midfielder Cassandra Nelson (Exeter, N.H. / Exeter) scored twice and assisted on two of Carter's goals.

The Hawks are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Southern Vermont College for a 12:00 p.m. game. The Mariners will play their next game at the same time, that coming at Wheelock College.
