Cobb-Wilkins Goes 2-0 With 18 Saves for NECC Player of the Week

LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks sophomore Lyndsey Cobb-Wilkins (Elmira, N.Y.) held opponents scoreless in a pair of matches this week and has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, for the week ending on Oct. 20.

Cobb-Wilkins started the week with an impressive 15-save, shutout victory over Salve Regina on Oct. 17. Cobb-Wilkins was called upon for a variety of saves, including several short-range chances, all of which she turned away from goal.

On Saturday, Cobb-Wilkins made her way into the goal in the second half of a 2-0 win against Bay Path. She finished with three saves and took credit for the win to improve to 4-1 this season.

Cobb-Wilkins and the rest of the Hawks approach the end of their season with three games remaining on the schedule.

Becker heads for Mitchell in NECC play on Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. match, then welcomes Elms to Alumni Field on Saturday for a 10:00 a.m. kickoff, before finishing their regular season on Oct. 30 with a non-conference game against UMaine at Fort Kent.

Saturday's match against Elms has been designated as Becker's Senior Day for the women's soccer program.
