Cullina hits 1K digs as Women’s Volleyball splits at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --- The Becker College women's volleyball team closed out their regular season by splitting two matches at the Albertus Magnus College Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon at the AMC Athletic Center in New Haven, Connecticut. The Hawks lost 3-0 to Pratt Institute in the opener before battling to a 3-2 victory in the second match over the host Falcons.

• Becker junior outside hitter Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn. / Valley Regional), already the school's all-time leader in career digs, reached the 1000 career dig plateau in the first match against Pratt. For the day, the junior had 42 digs in eight sets.

• Becker senior middle blocker Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J. / Bronx High School of Science) led the Hawks with 19 kills over eight sets, along with four service aces and six total blocks.
• Becker senior outside hitter Veronica Patella-Quinones (Tampa, Fla. / Lake Mary) finished with 18 kills, a team-best six service aces and 37 digs.
• Becker freshman libero Joanna Bampi (Peabody, Mass. / Peabody Veterans Memorial) finished with a team-best 47 digs.

The Hawks have clinched a spot in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship Tournament. They await the release of the final seedings to see where they will play next week.
